College of the Arts (COTA) 2025/2023 Admission Guide
The College of the Arts (Cota) is an institution of arts education in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. It employs 39 lecturers full-time and 75 on part-time basis.
Cota was established by citizens of German heritage in 1971 as a Whites-only State Conservatory of Music. In the mid-80s drama and visual arts were added to the Conservatory’s programs, and in 1990 it was renamed College for the Arts.
The seven full-time degree programs currently offered are African Performing Arts, Product Development and Design, Fashion Design, Television Production, Radio Production, New Media Design, and Music and Sound Production. Tertiary programs are offered as three-year courses of studies. COTA’s leitmotiv is “Lifelong learning through the arts”.

MANUAL APPLICATION SUBMISSION
Please submit all applications as hard copy at COTA Town Campus or KCAC Campus, in Windhoek.
N$100 application fee is applicable, to be paid cash when submitting.
Only applications with proof of payment will be considered. application forms from outside Windhoek can be sent to the PoBox 2963, Windhoek (successful selected candidates will pay the N$ 50 application fee upon registration).

I passed the interview of Fashion and design at COTA in 2015 but I was called 2016 around September if I’m still interested. I told them I do but next year only but I want to change to media? Can I reapply or for media or what should I do?

I am Dr. Armas Shikongo, Psychology Lecturer at the University of Namibia.
My daughter was doing Grade 11 last year and qualified to go to Grade 12 AS.
She was studying at Delta Secondary School. She was doing the following subjects and passed them as follows:
1. German (Foreign Language) B
2. English – C
3. Arts and Design -C
4. Biology – D
5. Physics – D
6. Mathematics – E
27 points @ 6 subjects
24 points @ 5 subjects
She was not accepted back into Delta as the school does not offer Arts and Design at Grade 12 Level, on AS. Her biggest passion and talent are in the Arts and Design field of study, hence this inquiry. We tried applying for her to Windhoek High, as they offer German and Arts and Design subjects but no admitted.
I would like to know your general admission requirements, as I am seriously considering to register her with the College of the Arts, she is also very good with Graphics Design.
